Emily Oaks Family Nature Outing - April 2023
Families had the opportunity to participate with their children on a self - guided nature scavenger hunt, have snacks and play on the playground. Families took home a ECA tote bag filled with activities for home, supplies like diapers and wipes and free books! Over 100 people attended this nature inspired family event.
Skokie Exploratorium Event - March 2023
Families came to explore for free and have access to snacks and infant goods, like diapers, wipes and free books. ECA family Liaisons helped communicate with families who spoke other languages. The ECA Outreach Team was thrilled to continue building relationships with families in our community.
ECA Second Annual Fun Fair - May 2023
At the Second Annual ECA Fun Fair on May 13th, over 359 participants visited 30 different organization's resource tables to play games, make crafts, win prizes and learn about resources available in the Niles Township Community. Tote Bags with take home activities, snacks, infant goods, face painting, an outdoor book walk, and a balloon artist added to the fun!
ECA Party in the Park with the Skokie Library Bookmobile - July 2023
Last Saturday’s Eca NilesTownship Party in the Park in collaboration with Skokie Public Library was amazing! About 100-150 families and little ones came for a day of fun activities, scavenger hunts, story time with Ms.Holly, and goodie bags to take home. Early Childhood families also had the opportunity to check out books and get library cards in the park!
ECA Families go to The Chicago Botanic Gardens - August 4th, 2023
Friday August 4th, our Team of Family Liaisons bussed over 40 Children and families to the Chicago Botanic Gardens to enjoy a FREE day of nature and fun! Upon arrival we were given a private tram tour and viewed the entire park. After lunch we took a walk to the butterfly enclosure where the kids learned about the life cycle of a butterfly as they experienced over 100 different species of butterfly. We ended our day with some free time at the Nature's Play Garden. Family Liaisons were present to translate the experience and answer and questions in Spanish Urdu, and Farsi. Thank you so much to The Chicago Botanic Gardens and Cook County Commissioner Josina Morita for helping provide our families with entrance, transportation and such an amazing time. We can't wait for the next outing!
Fall Weekend Celebration - Weekend of October 27th, 2023
This past weekend we had such an amazing time celebrating fall with our parents and families for out our bi-weekly parent support group, and while hosting a 'Trick or Treat' table with the Skokie Chamber of Commerce. At our family support group meeting we celebrated the season with hot green tea and apple cider donuts for the parents, and hosted pumpkin painting and a costume giveaway for the kids! Thank you to our ECA families fro helping us welcome the holiday season.
Diversity Day Event - September 30th, 2023
Our wonderful Family Liaisons, Zakia, Sarwar, and Ximena, with the support of Camila, Tina, Astrid, and our kind volunteers Mrs. Lucia and Mr. Alvaro, celebrated the diversity of our families and community by reading and singing in three different languages and dancing and participating in an African drum circle along with the children at the beautiful Emily Oaks Nature Center! Family Winter Movie Night - December 16th, 2023
Right before the Holiday break, the ECA had a Family Winter Movie Night Celebration at the Niles Township district for Special Education, with winter arts and crafts, a family Photo Booth, Pizza, Hot chocolate bar and of course a movie for everyone to enjoy! During the event we had over 200 families and children participate giving out valuable early childhood information for the new year. What a successful event!
