amilies can provide a wealth of information and feedback to guide your efforts. The first step is to decide what you want to learn from families, and how it will be used.
What do you want to learn from families?
Potential learning topics could include:
understanding family’s dreams/desires, needs or concerns;
getting insight into family’s understanding or experience with targeted problems;
understanding family’s experiences and challenges with trying to live a healthy life, getting their children ready for school, or other problems or goals you are targeting;
getting families’ ideas about how services should be designed to best meet their needs;
getting family feedback about current services;
getting ideas about how to reach hard to reach families;
getting data on your targeted outcomes.
